We went and looked at what agencies and freelancers actually charge to run a small business’s social media, using Nigeria as the worked example because that is the market we could source properly. The range there runs from about ₦50,000 a month for a freelancer posting a few times a week to ₦800,000 a month for an agency retainer with production included. A hire is the third option and the one this page will not price for you, because we do not know your payroll and inventing a salary would be the sort of made-up number the rest of this site avoids. What we will say is that a hire buys judgement — someone who knows the business, answers the odd customer, and notices when a post is wrong. A tool does not.
